I've been searching for a hagwon job for many months. The first position I took, the school changed their mind and said they wanted someone with more experience. The second job, at the last minute said I'd have to share housing so I canceled with them. Finally, I found a job that *looked* perfect and I sent all my documents in ... just had my consulate interview and my visa should be here in a few days ...

The school just emailed and said I was the last teacher to sign up and some parents withdrew their kids so my class was no longer necessary. They said they'd already found me a position at a school where they are friend's with the director. The new school said they wanted to talk with me, asked some odd questions and said they'd get back to me. Turns out they are deciding if they need me. My intuition tells me not to go with that school.

My questions:

My visa is attached to a school that doesn't want me. How do I fix that?

Any ideas for new jobs that I can get quickly? I was planning to leave at the end of February. Obviously, I'd like something decent.

I understand that hagwons are businesses, but damn ... it would be nice to know if I'm flying to Korea next week or not. I can't keep my life on hold forever.

Any realistic and kind advice is welcomed.

You're right to trust your intuition. Also be wary of any bait and switch tactics.

"My visa is attached to a school that doesn't want me. How do I fix that?"

You have two options. Get them to cancel it, so you start again from scratch. Or, get the school to transfer your visa to your new school. This last option can be a bit of a headache, since your 'current' school has already shown itself to be disorganised. Also talk to the Korean embassy you went to about cancelling the visa yourself.
