|
|
I am leaving a job in Korea without going home and starting another job in Korea days after that.
I have been told that I can legally transfer my visa situation within 2 weeks of this move. I was told this is a new rule.
Can anyone confirm this if they have done it or explain for more clarity?
Thank you. |

Yeah, I called the immigration hot line twice today and spoke with two different people. Both told me that I had two weeks.
But my recruiter told me that I had to go to immigration the day before the date on my letter of release, and I'm a bit worried because my documents are being sent to me today, and I'm cutting it really close.
Has anyone done a visa transfer recently? Did you go before you finished your first job? |

To be safe, go before you finish your job. Korean immi is NOT consistent and it will suck hard if you wait thinking it's ok and then the agent rejects your transfer (even though you were within the two weeks). Everything is based the whim of the agent you see. Rules are not rules at immi, they are guidelines - which may or may not be followed. Get it done early and take anything extra that they could possibly ask you for - That's how to get things done at kimmi.
The 1345 kimmi info line even has a new disclaimer recording to that effect that is played before you speak to an agent. |
