Hey all~ I am changing schools within GEPIK and need some help.

I finish at my current GEPIK school on 31st March but don't start at my new school till April 19th.

So as you can see I have like a 3 week gap.

I need to know what documents I need and what I have to do at immigration to transfer my visa and if it is possible to do it with a 3 week gap (Will stay in Korea).
I just got my apostilized copy of my degree and criminal records (NZ).

I am so confused with immigration so asking on Dave Cafe to see if anyone has been through this similar situation and can help me out.

Thank you.

In order to transfer you MUST have the paperwork completed BEFORE your current ARC (E2) expires. You CANNOT do it on the 30 day"free" extension if you got one.

The new job must start within 30 days of the old contract termination.

You will need:
ARC
passport
new contract
guarantee from the new employer (letter of sponsorship)
copy of the new employer's business registration
application form (signed)
transfer fee (60k won) and extension of ARC (30k won).

Depending on what documents you used to obtain your last E2 you may need to also submit a NEW apostilled CRC and/or apostilled degree copy. If you do need to submit them and do not have them now you WILL BE allowed time to get them (until next Jan.1). They will require you to sign a form that acknowledges this requirement.

Thank you so much.

One more question can I go into immigration and apply for this transfer any time before my old contract expires?

You will need a LOR to do it before your current contract expires AND you can only do it within a week or so of the end of your contract if you plan to complete your contract.
