Does anyone know how i'd go about vacuum packing my clothes in this country? Maybe someone is aware of a store which would provide this service. . .

If you have a strong vacuum you can buy spacebags, they work really well.

Your local Emart should have them. Check around the hangers, laundry bags, and whatnot. Mine are on an end-cap facing the outside wall, ergo not too easy to find, but they are there!

Daiso carries these as well, but I'd spend a little more so your packages don't burst while in transit.

I sent a couple boxes of clothes home when I left Korea. It was way cheaper than I thought it would be and they were really heavy boxes. Like, less than 30,000 won. Took 4 or 6 weeks to get them though. Why do you want to vacuum pack them?

sweet, that's awesome! I vacuum pack them cuz the clothes will get this brutal murky smell if they are in that box in such conditions for so long.

Hey, how did you guys send stuff home for only 30,000? Can you give me some info on that please? I plan on sending a lot of stuff back to Canada before I leave Korean in April. I live in Suwon, but can go to Seoul if needed for a dropoff service.

You don't need to go to Seoul, just buy #5 boxes at the local post office, fill with clothes, seal box, bring back to post office. Tell them that you want surface/slow shipping. Easy and cheap!

Vacuuming saves a lot of space in suitcases etc.

Where did you go to ship that home? I would love to take advantage of something like that.

I love the vacuum bags at E-Mart. They have several sizes for 3-4 shirts up to an entire bed sheet/cover set. Also ideal to shrink bulky stuff like pillows.

I sealed some pre-owned bed sheets away (came with the apartment) to save space, that was 2 years ago and there's been no leakage at all. Awesome stuff. Only makes sense if you have a vacuum cleaner, or a girlfriend with a really big mouth.
