|
|
This is for all my Michiganders. There is a new nonstop flight out of Incheon to Detroit aboard the new 777. Its a fast flight. 13 hours. 20 minutes. It's also one of the cheaper flights they have at the moment. Delta is running it. But Korean Air will also have the flight later as well.
Cheers. |

well I live in Cleveland so this might be for me as well as it would be easier to connect than O'Hare. How much are the fares? |

1200-1400 bucks. Summer season. Watch out. Average flights were like 1600. Not too long from now will be paying 2K for a flight. |

Flew it back in August. I got upgraded to Business Class both ways and both ways they didn't have the top-level business class in the flights. It was a giant recliner, not a pod. Still its nice to go direct to Detroit.
Now if they could just process people through customs at a pace greater than a snail's.... |

I'm from Southern Ontario, and it's faster to hit up Detroit than Toronto.
What sites do you guys use to get tickets?
I'm planning on heading home for the summer. |

Sometimes buying directly form the airline saves you a few bucks. Sometimes not. This time around I bought it on Orbitz and saved 150 bills on the same exact flight offered on the airline's website. Expedia, Travelocity. Those are good as well.
Steelrails, how the heck did you get upgraded to business class? I'm tired of being squished in coach. |

Flying Korean Air, I have always been upgraded to business class. I always arrive at the airport early and ask if I can be seated as close to the front of the plane as possible. It has always resulted in being upgraded. It has happened 5 out of 5 times. Other airlines I have been upgraded to business class once on Cathay Pacific and never on any other airlines. Korean Air is awesome. |

Great Info OP
This will be really useful because I have to go back to Michigan two times this year. 1200 bucks for a direct flight to D town will be awesome...I'm crossing my fingers. Now I have to try to get a connecting flight to Grand Rapids. |

Arrange your travel plans so you'll be fine if you are overbooked and volunteer to fly the next day. You really won't lose a day because when you fly business class you get off the plane feeling fine. Coach you get full on jet lag and stress fatigue.
Also if a flight attendant requests that you switch seats, grudgingly agree or goody-two-shoes it ("Of course I'd be happy to let the old man sit next to his wife), often then they will upgrade you as well for being so cooperative.
That was real sweet. Everyone is so territorial and "This seat is MINE. I paid for it, who cares if they are an old couple? They don't deserve special treatment. Blah Blah Blah Immature selfishness."
Well I do think old couples deserves special treatment and I don't feel that bound by my seat that I can't make someone a little more comfortable if I am a little less. And guess what? Worked out a lot better for me. What goes around comes around. |

ehh, Ohio is the 7th most populous state in the country, and Cleveland is anything but country. SO tired of the people-from-Cleveland-are-hicks remarks (not saying you cyui), it's actually a pretty urban city with many, many thriving "unfarm-like" suburbs. Anyone from there knows the deal. |
