How can I read a hdd on my laptop? Is that even possible? Oh, and I don't have the tower for the hard drive. |

If you have a bare HDD (2.5" or 3.5") you will need to get an externnal USB case for it. They are about 20k won in most computer sections of your local department store or local computer shop.
Most computer shops will install the HDD into the case for free or you can DIY in about 5 minutes with a screwdriver. The plugs are all unique and you can't screw them up.

or alternatively, if it has an OS loaded on it you may be able to just stick it in your laptop. There is no such thing as a desktop and laptop HDD, only different pin configurations. If they match, you are good to go.
Just remove the shield on the back of your laptop and check it out. |

While I guess that is technically true, almost all laptop hard drives are 2.5" and almost all desktop hard drives are 3.5", so there is a functional difference most of the time. Drives that you put into a desktop are usually much larger and won't fit into a laptop. |
