Hi,
I searched through all the posts (well, not all because there were so many) about english speaking doctors, etc. One of the sticky threads from the FAQ section was really old, though, and some of the links didn't work. If I am asking a question that has been asked before I apologize.

I am not sick, but back in the states was seeing my doctor once a month to continue a prescription. When I told him I was coming to Korea, he said it should be easy to see a korean doctor and get them to prescribe me the drug I was taking (it is a fairly common prescription). Does anyone have a good english speaking doctor to recommend? I don't need to get a check-up or diagnosed, I just need him to prescribe me what I was taking in the states. Any suggestions on who I should see or how to go about getting a prescription? Thanks.

Most doctors can give you a prescription. However, some specialized medications require a trip to a big hospital and maybe a specialist. I take Nexium and my GP couldn't prescirbe that medication. However, he could prescribe something "similar" to it but recommended if I wanted to continue taking Nexium I should see my specialist.

Most docs here can speak at least passable English and generally won't waste much time checking you out if you know your medical problem and it's relatively common. Usually for my asthma meds I'll be in and out within two minutes with at least one minute of that time revolving around him asking me if I believe in God and if I pray. Generally it's a painless process and the meds are usually very cheap with the government health insurance plan.
