"Market" : Normal, legal and official/authorized distribution.
"Black market" : illegal sales
"Gray market" : Legal sales but the sales unofficial/unauthorized, or unintended by the original manufacturer.

Rebel 2ti - USA market (or north american?)
Kiss X4 - Japanese market
550d - the rest of the world market (i think)

Aside from the warranty differences and the name, they are exactly the same camera. I had the Kiss X4 for a while and it's a great camera that takes pictures on par with the 7D. Yes, the there are a few tweaks that make the 7D better, in particular its ability to dual-meter for better colors representation. But unless you're a pro or just a dude with big hands, then get the Kiss X4/550d. You'll be happy.

I second the Nikon D7000... Very awsome camera.... and the high def video is awosme too.

I paid 1.38mil for the body only. I had a D200 before.
