Anyone know a retailer for deer meat? I miss the jerky and they don't make bad steaks or burgers either. If yes, what's the average price per lb?

I'm guessing its all gotta be imported, Koreans have long since sterilized the wild life

Plenty of deer in Korea. Albeit a smaller version of what I'm used to in Canada.

If a lad were to say... get out of the city, and into the countryside, he'd see a few.

If I really wanted some venison, I'd go out to one of the islands north of Incheon and talk to a few farmers. they quite often snare them. In fact, I've run across a few deer killed by snares.

nice, I'm set to go hiking a few weeks anyway. Wanted to see the islands by incheon. I'll bring a ice cooler with me, store the excess meat or I can always just mail it to myself as soon as I get it

How's the taste compared to what you had in canada? More gamey?

http://www.healthmeat.co.kr 25,000 won per kilogram but says "sold out".

http://www.cyso.co.kr/search/item.aspx?inQ=%BB%E7%BD%BF ranges 30,000-40,000 per kilogram.

Both are Korean deer, not imported.

oooh ostrich, thank you. I haven't tried it myself but I hear the taste is so close to beef you can't tell the difference. Venison takes a lot of seasoning to get it right

Seems that whole website is sold out but thanks for the heads up. I love venison sausages and haven't had it in a while.

There are plenty of deer down my way. My friend's dog catches two or three a year. They usually just give the meat to the village old-folks.
