That's what I'll be doing next month. The website says that on flights from China to America you can have two 23-kilo checked bags, but on other flights it's only one 20-kilo one. So would an itinerary from Incheon to JFK changing in Beijing, qualify for the larger allowance, or not?
Also, the website says only one carry-on bag, maximum 5 kilos. Do you think they would allow my computer bag, with laptop, as a "personal item" in addition to the 5-kilo one?
Thanks again! |

Flew with them last year and got the two bags checked without a problem for the entire trip. As long as you booked it as one trip they don't care. I think my two checked bags were even a pound or two over the weight limit.
When I flew I had a backpack that was clearly over the weight limit for the cary-on and they just let it go. From my experience (and I'm sure someone will have a different experience) they didn't really care as long as you were somewhat close to their regulations.
Of all the airlines I have been on they were the least attentive to the details of their baggage policy. Maybe I just got the right person checking me in on the right day, but that was my experience. |
