|
|
Question, is having four distinct seasons really that great?
For me the answer is no! Reason being is that everything changes so fast that you can't get into a pattern of enjoying what it has to offer. Summer is very hot but if you want to explore all the different beaches around the country it is not possible. Winter is way too short (and not enough good snow fall) to get into the ski season fully. And the other two seasons come and go so fast that it is truly hard to appreciate what it has to offer.
So from now on when a Korean tells me about the greatness of distinct seasons I will have to strongly disagree. |

Sounds like England, minus the hot weather in the summer. |

I like the strong season changes in Korea. I just wish fall and spring lasted as long as winter and summer. Fall, seems like it lasts....two, maybe three weeks?? |

I think it's better than Canada's 2 seasons of Winter and construction. I really love this time of year with the beautiful sunshine! I can't wait for the flowers to bloom! |

I can't understand why Koreans insist on bragging about this. Especially when winter and summer is terrible here and spring/fall are way too short. |

I love the Korean weather.
I came back to the Uk and was reminded of a whole new world of weather. Weather I don't dislike, per se, but coming back to it wasn't a great start.
That small, drizzly pathetic rain and dullish grey clouds that lasts a few days at a time.
The summer in Korea I thought was perfect. People find me somewhat odd because I don't find it remotely too hot. For me, it's too short and Winter is far, far too long.
Don't really care about the other seasons. Both kinda sucky anywhere. I just want hot.
Like in Thailand. 32 degrees all year round (average)
In fact, Thailand is the worlds hottest country when you use averages, because it has the least variable temperature of all, sticking at that gorgeous sweltering heat.
So yeah. Korean weather is great all in all, because it's just like a more distinctive England. A bit more powerful and in your face. |

Seriously. My parents got over 7 feet of snow in January, and almost as much in February. One thing I find about Korean weather is that there is usually less variance. Where in Canada Spring/Summer/Fall can often blend together because summer can end up very cool for a great majority of it. As hot as it is, it's nice to have that distinction.
Winter is a cake-walk here.

It depends. September/October 2010 might as well have been summer considering the heat. Add in the entended rainy season, (did your recruiter tell you about rainy season?), and the "4 seasons" may be merging into 2 and 1/2 seasons.
Just enjoy what you get because it could be worse. |

Canada only has 2 seasons? Where did you live?
For the record, Fall only last 5 days in 2010.
But, I agree. Act as if SK is the only place on the planet that has 4 seasons and be amazed at the mention of it every single day. The past 4 months have been shite. |

I remember someone saying this a few years back. Korea has two seasons: hot and cold. |

Korean weather is pretty good. It's sunny, not too dry or wet except for in the monsoon season. Athough, I do personally wish there was a little more snow. |

Do you also wish to get herpes and be kicked in the head?
I hate snow.
