I don't know. I'm going to change one of my five to include reading Tomato's Miriam Ferguson Society book. I'd love to see him create a novel based on "waa waa waa! The nasty Koreans won't speak to me in Korean". If he manages to get the book to novel length, he may well be the greatest novelist ever.

1. Finish my teaching credential and find a job teaching in the U.S.
2. Take my family to South America for a summer.
3. Take up fishing.
4. Buy a house.
5. Get around to organizing all of my photographs.

1. Save 500,000.
2. Get my 10km time down to under 30 minutes and start winning races in Korea.
3. Buy a house in London with said 500,000
4.Play in an (none-English speaking) indie band with my wife and other Koreans.
5. Get to at least 3 games in the World Cup in Brazil.

How I'm doing:
1. Providing I don't lose my Uni job and my wife keeps hers, nicely.
2. Hoping to get under 35 minutes next month.
3. (see 1)
4. My wife's drumming is good enough now, just need vocal and bass. My korean is at intermediate level.
5. Wait and see.

This. Exactly. Item 1 should therefore be to "leave the ROK immediately" for those who have not done so already.

Me too. My life's gone totally sideways & up in ways my five-years-ago self couldnt have imagined. Stay flexible.

I'd say my life has improved a lot compared to five years ago, so yay for getting old I guess. In the spirit of this thread however I have decided to make a five-hour plan. It involves tacos and a nap.

- stay healthy
- have a child (or better yet 2) I'm already married so it's doable Smile
- have at least $200,000 in assets
- travel some countries around Korea
- get my Korean to a decent level (long way to go)

The most important ones are accomplished (health, family, savings) Could have done more travelling but I didn't realize that it's either raising a baby/toddler or travelling.
As for the language, it depends on what would you call "decent" Sure I improved a lot compared to five years ago but still not where I was hoping to be by now. Not that I worked on it... I'll give it 5 more years. Wink
