Does anyone know where I could get my hands on some of these? I know, I know, we probably don't need them, but I was a girl scout. I carry a first aid kit Embarassed

Are you going to keep taking them until the food chain is fixed?

Haha no. I'm going to skip the fresh produce for a bit, though, and eat imported stuff for a while. Much of my diet is imported anyway (Bob's red mill porridge and flour, cheese, dried beans, canned beans, canned tomatoes). I'll miss the oranges and fresh veg, but better safe than sorry.

Anyway, any tips on where to find those pills would be greatly appreciated.

Yeah, I know. My mom's adorable and leaving skype voicemail asking me how I am, what's going on in Korea, and strongly suggesting that I buy the pills, so I figured showing them to her would make her feel better. I could keep them with last year's tamiflu Laughing

Anyway, any advice as to where I could procure them would be appreciated. Thanks!

The pills wont be enough. You will need one of these as well:

Actually, I brought a hazmat suit as a joke during the H1N1 scare. It's only level 1, but it was funny.

Again, does anyone know where I can find them?

OP: are you really this much of an idiot, or just spend 24/7 on Drudge and Gawker?

What part of "I'm doing this to alleviate my mom's fears" don't you get? My mom is adorable and I'd like to make her stop worrying. It's a handful of cheap pills. What's the harm in buying some?

You're lovely, by the way. Don't let anyone tell you otherwise.

Probably not, but I was raised a girl scout, and my mom took me camping every year, so we have that "be prepared" gene. My friend laughed at my small first-aid kit until one of them had an allergic reaction to a food when we were out and I stopped his hives with some Benadryl pills and cream.

EDIT: Screw it. I'll just show her some tylenol or something.

Go and buy yourself some seaweed to snack on if you are worried about any potential fallout. You can also consider using iodized salt instead of ordinary table salt when you cook.
If you already regularly eat sea food or take multi vitamin tablets then chances are you will already have more than enough iodine in your diet.

OP: If you look in the general discussion forum someone else asked the same question and received a couple of slightly helpful responses. Maybe that would help you?

I will never understand why people waste their time on here just criticizing other peoples questions and giving useless replies.

I wish I could be more help to you. I hope you eventually find someone who will answer your question seriously.
