I've checked craigslist and dave's buy and sell thread but seem to be having no luck... I tried to buy a TV at the store but everything is flat screen HD etc and so the cheapest thing i found was about 280,000 won... Can anyone tell me where to find a regular cheap TV? Thanks!

Does it have to be working? If you don't mind scrounging through some dirt, your local junkyard will have a pile of TVs for between 5'000won to 10'000won. Some of them probably even work. You can then buy a universal remote for about the same price.

Funny story: my TV broke. I paid to throw it out. When leaving the apartment, the school board demanded I replace it. They gave me some story about it technically being public property and a "national asset". So, I went to the junkyard and bought them a nice broken TV and put it in my apartment, which they will have to pay again to have thrown out.

I know this doesn't really help you now but we threw out a perfectly good TV 2 weeks ago. You should go onto the Buy and Sell forum and ask for a TV as I'm sure there are people giving their old TVs away for free!
