|
|
My contract is up May 31st and it says the same on the back of my ARC.
However, I am working that day as well. Is it okay for me to leave the next day on a flight out? Are there any penalties? Do I have to extend my visa for a few days? I'm not terribly sure about any of this. Any information would be great, thanks! |

Just to play it safe, I would go to immigration and ask for an extension. The ARC expiration date is the day you have to either leave or extend. |

You must be THROUGH passport control no later that 23:59 on the last date indicated on your ARC. There are NO exceptions. If you are late you WILL get clipped as an overstay, have a black mark in your file (further complicating (more than it is already) ever coming back to work) AND possibly face a 100k fine.
You can also get an extension. The cost is FREE. You need your passport, ARC and copy of your ticket/e-ticket.
You can also do it on-line from the immigration website: http://www.g4f.go.kr/pt/CvlapplInfoDetailR_en.pt?pageSpec=&targetRow=&lafjOrderBy=&onlineApplYn=Y&appcYn=Y&sLOrgnCd=&sSOrgnCd=&sCvlapplNm=&cvlapplCd=12700000095&orgnCvlapplCd=J02&userId=&locale=en
if you have the ability to print/scan your ticket, passport and ARC.
(click "apply" at the bottom of the page and have your scans ready.

Not to be rude or anything, but it's amazing how many of these threads come up. A date is a date, and I'm always amazed at how many people don't think a few days matters.
Every important thing in life has a date to it, and you can't miss them.
Really, I'm not trying to be rude, just surprised how many times this question comes up. |

Just an update. You were 100% correct. It literally took all of 10 mins. The longest part was the trip out there.
Thanks again. |
