My buddy and I have been working on this site for a year now, but are pretty much computer illerate, but want to promote martial arts in Korea as a viable alternative to the dreadmills in the overcrowed Korean gyms, and do it with a little style.

What do you think the site needs

I think I looks it too spartan, too 1990s

(Sorry Mods if this offends your one thread martial arts thread policy)

Thanks guys for advice---and go easy on us,

There are far too many ads on the homepage. You should organize the advertisements so that they don't obscure the main content. I challenge you to find me a website (even a commercially successful one) where you have to scroll down to even see the first paragraph of content. (I'm using Google Chrome, maybe it's different on other browsers.)

Use exclamation marks sparingly!

A lot of the pages don't have any visual design. The Korean flags still have their watermark on them. You might want to fork out the $3 dollars to purchase they legally - which makes me wonder, you should have the cash from the banner ads and if they aren't paying you then get rid of them.

IMHO, the navigation system could be designed better. Replace the clubs nav banner on the homepage by a dropdown menu(perhaps on the right-hand side column, to conserve space (but make its function obvious). That Busan Scuba and Facebook advert is criminal where it is.

The main header looks well. I think you should work on getting the relevant (to the visitor) content up where the visitor can see it without scrolling.

I'd plug a boxing gym in Incheon if I could figure out how.

Something I find funny, and some others may find this funny as well...

You have NO NATIVE MARTIAL ART. Sure, BJJ, Muai Thai, Boxing and Judo are great, but you have NO TAEKWONDO, NO HAPKIDO, NO GUMDO, NO TAEKKYON.

Great choice of a name page. "Korean Martial Arts" Rolling Eyes

Wow. That was strictly amateur. Try getting rid of some of the ads, using a less abrasive font. Did you check out any of the pre-existing martial arts sites like Sherdog's?

I was going to offer some help, but I decided against it. Instead, OP if you would like some advice or direction, just send me a PM. I did this back in the states.

Pre-installed Drupal, or just install vBulletin with a skin.

Too much having to scroll and the pages that you click lead to small links to click on. also on the main page the korean flags have the water mark BUT also you have the flag backwards on the right side. it should be flipped. That kind of thing does bother some people. Also like said before there is NO korean martial arts on your page.

The pages also load and display in a straight linear fashion. You should make it so everything displays vibrantly on the same screen shot, otherwise it gets boring and annoying having to search around.

also rather than just having the name of the place, if someone wants to have their school on your site, then they should have some pictures of the school/teachers so it can be more inviting for the people who are curious about it.

Just some things i noticed lol
