Okay, so i tried using the search option but it was giving me some problems. I'm looking for the following places in seoul, preferably southern side but i'm open to whatever:

1. place that sells mac makeup (need my favorite powerpoint eyeliner)
2. shiseido pureness line- assuming i'll be able to find this relatively easy here (although i've been to a couple dept stores and didnt see them there)
3. a place that does eyebrow threading

any suggestions? i saw an old post about eyebrow threading but didn't have enough specifics.

I think I've seen mac at Shinsegae and Lotte department stores.

MAC is *extremely* overpriced in Korea. It is more expensive than MAC in the UK, which is already a rip off compared to US prices. It'd be cheaper just ordering online if you could from beauty outlet sites. But yes, they sell MAC at the Lotte department store.

Funny enough, whenever I have visited the Shiseido counter, I've never seen them stock the pureness line so I can't help you with that.

bah! i should have had some shipped to my home address and had my parents mail them to me. (they just sent some shoes so maybe i'll wait).
comfortable shoes seem a little pricey here, huh?

i've been using the shiseido pureness line, it's the only thing stuff that works well with my face. hope i can find it around here or else i'll just get that shipped with my mac stuff.

i forgot one more question- has anyone seen the bare minerals line around? mine will probably run out here in a few weeks...

any suggested sites or countries that I can ship from directly to korea? or is it less expensive sending it to the U.S. then making the parents ship it here?

Be careful about ordering high end cosmetics on ebay; there are imitations, plus you don't know how old the products are. I learned the hard way and vowed never again order high end stuff from ebay.

Yes, you get it shipped to S. Korea but be prepared to pay astronomically for shipping.

I also advise you to do your research before ordering, like how much those products are really worth by comparing those prices against the company's website.

Lastly, have you considered ordering from sephora? I haven't but it's an alternative.

PS: I just read that sephora doesn't ship to S. Korea.

Those companies make lovely cosmetics, but why not have some fun experimenting with some of the different brands here? There's an endless variety and if you don't like one eyeliner or lipstick, they are inexpensive enough that you can try another one.

Having said that, I still stick to my U.S. brand foundation. It' actually one of Neutragena's tinted moisturizers with an SPF and it's not so expensive that I can't afford to stock up when I'm home.

girlygirl- thanks for the ebay warnings. actually i ordered some mascara from taiwan a month before i left the u.s. and it was terrible. it was my first bad experience with ebay.

illysook- that's a good point. i think maybe i'll experiment with some of the eye makeup and lip stuff. my skin isn't the best so i may need to stick to the shiseido pureness line and bare minerals. it just makes my skin happier. or do u have any suggestions on 'healthy' light foundation (i don't wear a lot of heavy makeup) or skin care line that has some help from that transition skin for your 20's?

Bare Minerals -- found a counter in Myeongdong, in the building next to the big H&M store.

As for eyebrow threading -- I've been asking around for a year now and haven't gotten a solid answer. I was told they do it at the Dragon Hill Spa in Yongsan, so I'm gonna check it out this weekend.

I finally gave up and learnt to thread my own eyebrows. Once you get the hang of it, it's easier than plucking. there are videos on youtube. alternativelly, head to any big suana. I've only been to two saunas, one in Suwon and one in Seoul. They both had eyebrow threading.
