My picks:

BW: Cruz. He isn't the same man Faber fought 4 years ago. He's gonna be too fast and elusive for him this time. Rest of the division can't really compete with these two.

FW: Aldo. Duh. Waiting on him to move up.

LW: Gray Maynard -- I think he'd take out BJ, Frank in the upcoming rematch, and snuff Pettis' hype train

WW: GSP -- although I think Shields has a decent chance at taking the belt, I'm going with GSP via UD

MW: Andy Silva -- although it's frustrating he's too chicken to move up to LHW permanently (lots of interesting fights for him there). Better move up before age bites you in the butt Spider!

LHW: Eeeehhhhh.... tough division. Styles really dictate fights here. Most bandwagon MMA fans would probably pick bones, but I got Lyoto Machida. I think he'd have a good chance at taking out Bones AND Shogun in a rubber match

HW: UBEREEM. this probably isn't the smartest pick and i'm probably just biased because of the firestreak he's been on recently, but the man is a beast. if cain had trouble with kongo on the feet, ubereem is gonna falcon knee him into the afterlife

BW: it's between cruz and faber. either can guy can win it, but i think cruz has a the better edge against faber, but i'm rooting for faber to win.

FW: agree with aldo.

LW: i dunno, frankie edgar improves with every fight. i think he's a smarter fighter than maynard too, so maybe he'll come up with a better game plan for the rematch. pettis.... it'll be interesting what he does in the ufc. but i'm going with edgar still be #1.

WW: agree with gsp as well. i think gsp will walk through shields. he'll out box him, out wrestle him, out power him. gsp will probably keep it standing.

MW: silva, of course.

LHW: bones all the way. he's the new school of mma.

HW: i dunno... that's hard to say. i'm not a big fan of cain, but he might have the tools to be at the #1 spot for a while.

I agree with your picks Sadguy. Bones is obviously the real deal. I mean, the guy walked through Shogun. I thought his skinny legs might me his downfall (Shogun tried) but I guess not. Maybe in a year Davis will be a threat. He'll walk through Evans and any other top 5 guy at the moment.

Cain and dos Santos are the men to beat. I don't think anyone will hold onto this belt for more than 2 fights. Especially when the guys from Strikeforce make their way into the UFC. I'm excited to see just how good Overeem really is. He is a beast for sure but really hasn't proven himself just yet. His impressive wins have all been under K1 rules. If he can avoid getting taken down nobody will last longer than a round with him.

I think Cain will hold on to the belt for a bit, I think his wrestling with screw up JSD. I am only really worried about Carwin, that guy can knock out anybody

yeah, carwin has serious knockout power, but his gas tank is not there. i think cain can weather the storm.

overeem hasn't truly been tested yet at hw. we don't know about his cardio at the size he's at now. a good wrestler could wear him down.

I would pick Cain to beat JDS but I think it would be close. Same goes for Carwin, Lesnar, and possibly Barnett, Overeem, Werdum, and Bigfoot. I don't think any of those guys could beat all of the other guys in that group. Heavyweight just won't have a long dominant champ like Silva or GSP.

Kimbo Slice. Ha ha, jk unfortunately...

Anybody else drooling at the fantasy of seeing GSP fight the Spider Silva? Neither will likely drop/gain the weight, but it's fun to imagine a 'hybrid' weight class in which they would face eachother...I'm a big GSP fan but I would be mighty nervous to see that bout.

I would rather see Jones vs. Silva. If Silva is already dominating his weight class I see no reason for him to move down.

I'd rather see Bones Silva, too.

But seriously guy? No love for Overeem or Lyoto? I still don't think Bones is leaps and bounds above his competition yet. The LHW div is crazy because styles REALLY do make fights there.

Lyoto has lost two in a row. Three if you count the first fight with Shogun where Shogun got robbed. He is a great fighter, probably even still in the top five. But he will never fight for the belt again.

Overeem just doesn't have any big MMA wins in the past 4-5 years. Just a long string of unimpressive victories over B-Level fighters. If he wins the Strikeforce grandprix I will be impressed.

Even Rampage thought he lost that fight. Saying Lyoto will never fight for the title again is madness. Jone probably fights Rashad, then Rampage assuming he beat Hamil then next up is probably going to be the Dragon.

He still has two losses in a row so it's madness to think he has a title shot down the line. Maybe if he was a popular fighter like Rampage, but his style was never well recieved. Davis just beat Nog so I would think he is closer to a shot than Machida. I also wouldn't be surprised if someone from Strikeforce like Henderson,Mousasi or King Mo get a shot in the near future. Forrest Griffin is also very popular and could get a shot with another big win.

I am going to have to strongly disagree with you. I think the dragon is more popular than you give him credit for and I think you are overestimating the value of those two losses. He should beat Randy he might be right in line, or after one more fight for #1 contender. You look at almost any thread on sherdog about who is the toughest style match up for Jones and the the name that comes up the most is Machida's. I think you are too soon to forget this is the guy who did this:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WULqHdvSyHc
to the current number #1 contender.

I forgot to address your point about Phil Davis. I was actual with you BEFORE the lil Nog fight. I figured Phil Davis was on the fast track to fight Jones but after that fight, I don't know anymore. I thought it showed his striking to be fairly lacking. He pretty much just wrestlefracked Lil Nog but didn't really get it done till later. I think it showed his is much rawer than Jones and they might want to give him a couple more fights before giving him the champ. Then again that might change if they give him someone like Forrest and he comes out and destroys him.
