Another thread gave me this idea. I wonder how other people feel about their hagwon or other given housing...

Housing: it was great.
Flatemates: if only I had a gun.

First place was a huge 3 bedroom, 2 bathroom apartment in a nice area. Pitty I had to share it with the two bitchiest new Zealanders I have ever met.

The TV sucks. Other than that, can't complain.

I had an option in there about roommates but it didn't show up. I must have hit submit before adding another option. Then "cokroaches" was bleeped. Can't edit the poll I guess after a vote has been cast though.

I thought you could add a category. No?

Great place.
No roomate of course as I live with my wife!

The school pays for the place (par for the course).

Used to be able to. Think they must have changed it. When I try to edit the message, the poll section is gone.

Darrin,

In response to your question: I do now.

I have worked in hakwons and in public schools.

I have been at the same hakwon for 2 years now and things are great.
I also prefer teaching children.

I also do consulting on the side...a full slate!

Big, 3 bedroom, very comfortable. Most of our own furniture though. I like quality, as well as comfort. Smile

New, quiet, spacious, unshared and sunny -- 12' x 8' sliding glass door in the living room and a 8' x 5' window in the master bedroom. Works for me!

Have wondered the builder trimmed out all the doors in a beautiful rich mahogany, then used this unnatural reddish-brown crown molding around the ceiling. But when you're living in free housing and the color scheme's the only thing you can fault about it, you figure you've got it pretty good.

6 pyeong concrete box. No windows. In between the elementary school and hagwan with little kids pounding on my door and asking me for candy all the time. The quality isn't bad... for a concrete box.

No windows? That must be pretty bad...how can you cope? Do you smoke? That would be awful.

Bit on the small side with a crap water heater, a really noisy half-functional bit of AC and a washing machine that always dumps all the water all over the "veranda"'s floor whenever I do a load but at least I've got a window and there's no cockroaches and very little noise, which appears to be better than some people (the people who have apartments in the school or have to live with their bosses really have my sympathy).
