So I've subscribed to several Internet services to cloak where I am from (Korea) as to watch programs in the US. As most know, often you can't watch programs in the US on the Internet of outside of the US( for ridiculous copyright, ridiculous because just make us watch advertisements, whatever to watch streaming content, why block international users altogether?). My question: Is there an internet Proxy service in Korea or a device in Korea I can purchase so I can hide my IP address/location as to watch US content?
Many thanks.

I don't really KNOW know computers, but something about that site sketches me out. Have you used it?

Seems like one of those things that claims to shield your computer etc., and you download it and in reality it allows someone complete access to your computer.

OP, www.hotspotshield.com is pretty much what I use to watch my hulu and netflix. I haven't had any issues that would cause concern for my computer secuirty, but the program itself is a pain in the butt. It requires you to click continue whenever you want to start a new page, every web page will have an ad at the top, and it loves some pop-ups.

I enjoy it because it links to a dedicated server, not something like www.torproject.org. You can use Tor and choose to link to someone's computer in the states and watch your shows. Unfortunately, if you keep TOR running, then someone can connect through your IP and decide to visit some sites that will get the Fed's calling you.

I am sure there are other programs that you can use that will reroute or hide your IP, but I imagine they will have some drawback here or there.

I like witopia's vpn service. It's easy to use and there's nothing to download or install. You just make some changes to your network settings and they give you very easy-to-follow instructions. The cost is $40 per year.

Go to www.witopia.net to check it out.
