Does anyone have any experience of this?

How much did it cost? and how long did it take?

My passport runs out January 2012, so am thinking to renew here it's best I renew my passport now rather than later or am I wrong?

Thanks.

You can no longer get a new passport from the embassy. The embassy in Hong Kong is, as far as I'm aware, the only place in this part of Asia that you can get one from - http://ukinhongkong.fco.gov.uk/en/help-for-british-nationals/passports/how-to-apply/south-korea

That website tells you all you need to know.

Thanks for the info.

Regarding renewing in August, would it be ok to renew despite my passport running out in January 2012?

I know some require atleast 6 months in your passport, but is renewing now just renewing your ARC rather than renewing the E2 visa?

I'm not sure myself.

Do it now.

Your extension will only last until your passport expires and if you are in the list for a document replacement/upgrade it will use up your "one time only" status change (unless you want to get all new documents for Jan 2012 as well as a new passport.
