The glass is cracked on my Ipad. Anyone know where I can get it repaired?
I went to Lots in Gangnam and they wanted an arm and a leg for the repair. Does someone know a place in Yongsan that will fix the cracked glass on an ipad? |

I can give you info tomorrow for a guy in Yongsan, we've used him to repair a customer's iPhone 4 screen, and he asked for about half of what the apple repair center wanted. |

did you try the frisbee story in gangnam?
i would assume lots would charge a good deal without even asking them. as for frisbee, i would think it'd be reasonable at least, but i don't know. |

The place is called "Dreamtech"
The phone number is 02-3271-7738
The address is: Seoul, Yongsan-Gu, Won-Hyo Ro 3-Ga, 53-5 Jeong-Jin Building 706-Ho
or
서올 용산구 원효로3가 53-5
청진빌딩 706호
They're open from 9am-6pm M-F and 9am-12 noon saturdays and closed on sundays.
This buisness card is entirely in Korean so you may need a Korean friend or decent Korean ability in order to do business with them. |

Is it an iPad 1 or 2? If it's an original iPad you can order the parts online and fix it yourself. It is pretty difficult if you aren't really good with that sort of stuff. Even buying the parts yourself will be $100+, though. That's just for the glass, I think. Is the LCD fine? |

Getting the glass off properly requires a heat gun and if it's too hot can further damage the ipad. So with shipping + glass/digitizer + tools (heat gun etc)
Can cost more than it's worth.
But I can do this... |

The ipad was in my bag. I put the bag down on the ground and the corner of the ipad hit the ground first. Had the bag landed flat then there would've been no damage.
Since the corner of the ipad touched the ground first, the entire force of impact was concentrated on a small corner of the screen causing the crack.
I didn't have a screen protector on it since the case, itself, had a cover for the screen. It didn't occur to me that the plastic film on the screen would help make the glass a bit more durable than without.
I've learned from my mistake. Get ipad fixed. Put on a screen protector. Get a new bag with more padding. |
