I�m hoping to tell recruiters that I�m available for June�I�m sending out my FBI background check form this Monday (April 18)�and am wondering if it took most people the entire 6+ weeks to process.

It takes about 6 weeks for the FBI check alone. Another 3-4 weeks for the apostille. You can't expedite the FBI process, but you can expedite the apostille process.

Is this definitely across the board though? In my experience, it�s not always the case that these things take the maximum time (the �up to� time).

I was told it would take 12 weeks to get my CBC done, and I got mine in 6 weeks so I was happy with that. You'll need to add some options to your poll if you're going to get any useful data because my 6+weeks vote (1/2 the time they said it'd take) is much different than a person who votes the same but it took them the entire 12 weeks.

I received my FBI Check in a little under 4 weeks and had it apostilled the next day through the Oklahoma SoS office.

My background check only took about three weeks to be processed, four if you include transit time. I sent it out to the State Department to be apostilled exactly three weeks ago and it has yet to arrive. My check to them has not yet been cashed.

Since I am just at the edge of their expected processing time, I'm not getting worried quite yet.

Anyone else waiting for the State Department to return their CBC?
