I agree about savings potential. The tax thing in Canada is a kicker.

However, being here is only lucrative when you are young. When I hit 50 I need to be in Canada just in case I get cancer or heart problems or something. Koreans need to save all their money for these situations.

I myself make more than the average one year hagwon person now, and put a lot of effort into my work. I think it is fair because I want to stay here a few more years, and am married to a Korean.

I think schools that don't want skilled labour, but rather a sucker, rely on the one year newbies. These schools deserve the holidayers they get. The HUGE majority of people come for a holiday. I think that's a fact. The industry should realize that they couldn't get the teachers they needed unless there was this lure of a holiday. If people didn't want adventure you would have to offer them more money.
