How can you not hate Steve Jobs? Even if he wasn't the CEO of Apple, he would still be a smug, self-righteous little twerp who is begging for a slap in the face. I don't get it.

Have you met all the brand-loyal Apple fans?

Also smug, self-righteous little twerps that are begging for a slap in the face.

So the Galaxy S2 is coming out at the end of the month, First offered by KT. I was hoping for some insight on purchasing one of these bad boys.

I'm with SK telecom so I'm going to wait for SKT to carry the phone first so I can swap my sim card between my blackberry and the S2.

Does anyone know the particulars regarding E2 visas and phones on contract? 1 year? 2 year? purchase outright? How much time has to be left on my visa to take advantage of a contract purchase and so on. Any and all guidance is greatly appreciated.

I was able to get a Samsung Galaxy U at an Oz phone store in Itaewon with a two year contract and no downpayment.

I recommend going to Itaewon and just hitting up the phone stores. One should give you this deal.

I've noticed everywhere they've got signs up for 'reservations' of the Galaxy S2. I've reserved mine with KT and i'm part of the second batch, so should be a week or two hopefully. You'd be much better off going into one of the stores and asking.

Yes I have noticed the signs as well, they have caused a tightening of my pants in the region of my groin. I would love to hop in as an innovator but I think I'm better off to wait for SK telecom to carry the S2. Ohhhh technology is so bad ass. Cool

On an unrelated note anyone pissed off with the play station network being down? I play C.O.D with my friends back home but since Thursday the network has been "under construction." Twisted Evil

itunes is a POS and a major reason i went with the vega x over the iphone 4 was bcuz i didn't want to have to install it.

as far as ease of use, people who have never used a droid have used my phone with no problem and i've had no problem using iOS the few times i've had to. i don't play games on cell phones, so i have no idea which is better in that regard.

the google/gmail integration is a major plus for me...even better if you install facebook, twitter or skype.

the new batch of android phones are killing the iphone in the speed department as well, so at this point in time i don't really see any iOS advantages. that could change with the iphone 5...although i doubt it since there's not the same competition in america as there is here with regards to processor speed and camera quality.

Honestly, as much of a fangirl I tend to be when it comes to mac computers, I do prefer android phones. If only the Skype app would support video! Patience...

iTunes is a POS only on Windows. On Mac, it works quite nicely, so perhaps the problem is a weakness in Windows rather than iTunes itself.

Also, while Android might work very well with Gmail, the iPhones Mail App works equally well with MobileMe mail. In fact, with MobileMe, I can keep my contacts, calendars, bookmarks, mail, etc. synced between computers and my iPhone.

The biggest problem I have with Android is that I still don't trust Google. It's a company that makes all of its money from advertising. I just don't see how you can trust Google to not sell your personal information to advertisers. It seems a bit like trusting the wolf not to eat the chickens when you leave him in the henhouse.

If only the Skype app would support 3G... or if only the carriers would support the Skype app on 3G. With only wifi support it's nearly a waste.

This may sound silly, but it's impossible for me to hang up from a Skype call using the current Skype Android version on my Galaxy S. If I speak more than, say, 20 seconds, it won't come out of the black screen state when I pull my head away. Pushing the button opens to the lock screen with Skype still going on the call. I then have to open the lock screen and force close the Skype application to get it to hang up. Darned annoying, and costs me extra on paid calls.

Is this the same mobile me you are referring too? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MobileMe#Pricing I think it is a sweet application to access video from your PC anywhere you are, but for Calanders, mail etc its a little expensive. Mac loves to make you pay for "extras".

Yes, it is the MobileMe I am referring to, and it all depends on what is important to you. My time equals a lot of money. I don't like wasting my time. I have 3 Macs, an iPhone, and an iPad.

I use them in different places and for different reasons, but I need my contacts, calendars, bookmarks, and other things to stay in sync. Paying $70 (if you buy through places like Amazon you get a discount) a year for this to happen automatically and without any effort on my part is well worth it. I would spend much more than this in time if I were to have to manually do this each day.

I also pay $200 a year for a 100GB Dropbox account for the same reason. I want access to all of my files all of the time, no matter what device I might be using at the time. I keep all of my personal files in my Dropbox, and no matter what device I may be using, and no matter where I am, I have access to everything. Doing this manually would be nearly impossible. I'd spend hours each week trying to keep things in sync, and I'd never really catch up.

These small amounts of money are nothing when you compare it to the amount of time you can waste trying to stay organized. I've reached an age in life where I realize it is smarter to pay the neighborhood kid to mow your lawn than it is to do it yourself. You can earn more money during those hours than what you are paying that kid.

Things like MobileMe and Dropbox, while they do cost money, have greatly simplified my life. Now, when I add a song, picture, document, contact, bookmark, calendar event, etc. to one computer, it automatically gets added to every other device I own. For me, that is money well spent.
