Police are allowed to use reasonable force. Punching her in the face wasn't reasonable. Resisting arrest is pretty stupid, but the police do not have the right to use undue violence when subduing a 120lbs woman.

I agree.

If the cop were being punched in his face, it would be overkill, but his actions would fly.

He could have pepper sprayed or tasered her. He had enough time. Before he punches her in the face, you can clearly see him lining up his punch. He was in no fear of her.

He has good a chance of getting fired, since this is on video. If it were not on video, nothing would happen.

You guys don't know anything about cops. They're well within their rights to punch someone who swings at them, whether or not it's a punch or a slap or it connects or not.

Lesson of the day? Don't resist arrest when you're going up against a cop who is twice your size. Or try to hit them. Especially when drunk.

God, I would love to tase someone. It would be so cool to do that.

I just have to ask. Is it a bad thing that I enjoy watching this kind of stuff?

I mean, I watch COPS and get a sick sort of pleasure out of it.

Is that wrong?

Anyone who hits a cop deserves whatever happens to them.

...it is sad to live in a world where people actually believe statements like this.

No it's a sad world when people do stupid things and then are surprised with the results.

No way, cops are just ordinary people in uniform, not some gods who are untouchable. I dislike a lot of cops, I like some. This is based on actual cops I know. For a lot of them the badge is a power trip. It's stupid to hit a cop, for sure, but do people deserve to be hit back, no. In fact if a cop acts in a manner that would result in getting hit were he not in a uniform, then he deserves to get hit just as much as anyone else. Of course it's dumb, but deserves, doesn't deserve, is a different thing. It takes a certain type of person to want to arrest others, I just can not see why cops get, or deserve any kind of special treatment.
