Specifically: War, more war, and the destruction of the US to pave the way for the New World Order!

I think conspiracy theory just became conspiracy FACT!!1!

And I nominate ya-ta boy for the "Pro-War, Phony-Liberal Apologist-Hack of the Year" award. Sounds like a shoe-in.

^^ Very Happy

People not entirely into the alternate reality of conspiracy theories might enjoy this:

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/3096434/#42809364
Chris Hayes talks to Jonathan Kay of Canada's National Post (latest book: 'Among the Truthers: A Journey Through America's Conspiracist Underground')--he talks about how conspiracy theories are a bridge connecting people's ideology to the real world, and Chris Mooney (Motivated reasoning explains part of how conspiracy theory fans think.)

From Mooney's : The Science of Why We Don't Believe Science
"Okay, so people gravitate toward information that confirms what they believe, and they select sources that deliver it. Same as it ever was, right? Maybe, but the problem is arguably growing more acute, given the way we now consume informationthrough the Facebook links of friends, or tweets that lack nuance or context, or "narrowcast" and often highly ideological media that have relatively small, like-minded audiences. Those basic human survival skills of ours, says Michigan's Arthur Lupia, are "not well-adapted to our information age."

http://motherjones.com/politics/2011/03/denial-science-chris-mooney?page=3

Mooney did a book tour for his book "The Republican War on Science"
http://fora.tv/2006/09/11/Chris_Mooney/

At 11 minutes and 25 minutes are relevant to the current issue.

He's not talking specifically about conspiracy theories, but his comments are directly connected to the psychology of the phenomenon.

I would love to hear who 'Above' is.

I did enjoy Colbert's piece last night:
At this point, we can't be certain who this man's parents are, which means I have no proof that he is even a black man. He could be white, and if that is the case, I don't understand why we are questioning his legitimacy.

Chris Hayes reports that 18% still have doubts about where Obama was born and another 10% think the long form birth certificate was forged.

I am not supporter of President Obama, the dems or modern liberal philosophy more generally, but Good F'ing Lord! Was this even necessary? By necessary, I don't mean that the White House released President Obama's birth certificate; rather, the hysteria relating to the president's place of birth compelled the White House to release it.

Was this necessary? Look at the destruction this guy is doing to this country. How could a fellow American was to govern over the destruction of America as it was founded. Well, it turns out that he was born here, it is just the communist and American haters that he has been subjected to his entire life that influenced his philosphy.

I got a chuckle out of reading some of the comments on other sites about the birth certificate release. Quite a few are using 'Afterbirthers' to refer to those who still hold on to their delusion.

He then could have pricked that bubble by releasing the certificate at a moment of maximum political convenience to his re-election campaign. That the President didn't do so is an act of leadership that deserves a note of appreciation.

Isn't that pretty much what he did? He released his certificate of live birth when the issue first came up, ignored the 'birthers' afterwards, saw Trump rise to fame within the Republican party after reigniting the issue, and only then did he release the actual birth certificate.

The problem with president Obama is that he is a product of the university, an intellectual. He has fallen for the conceit that many intellectuals fall for. The idea that many ideas can be explored and tested, as in the university, by government as it relates to society. So I don't think that President Obama is a communist, an America hater or is actively trying to destroy the country as founded. Rather, I think he is governing to the best of his ability according to his world view. In short, it's his world view I have problem with, not the president (just to be clear).

Senator Rand Paul wants to see The Donald's Republican credentials.

Quote:
Washington (CNN) While real estate mogul Donald Trump continues to raise doubt over Obama's presidential credentials, Republican Sen. Rand Paul of Kentucky questioned Trump's legitimacy, not as an American, but as a Republican.
Speaking at a Merrimack County Republican Committee fundraiser on Thursday in Concord, New Hampshire, Paul said, "I've come to New Hampshire today because I'm very concerned. I want to see the original long-form certificate of Donald Trump's Republican registration."

"Seriously don't you think we need to see that?" Paul said, according to media reports.

Afterbirthers is a fantastic term. Let's just hope Maddow et al don't overuse it like the likewise awesome term Teabaggers.

I've reconsidered my initial reaction where I considered Obama's move a mistake by giving credence to Trump. (This no doubt accounts for why I don't get calls from the White House asking for my advice.) I've come to the position that Obama called his press conference to:

a) mute the discussion of him reshuffling the CIA/Defense/ambassador chairs

b) distract people from Bernenke's thing

c) hang the birther thing permanently around the GOP's collective neck.

Afterbirthers is a fantastic term.

It's not bad, but what about the 'Balders'? (My gift to the yat.)

Trump Dogged By Rumors His Hair is Not From U.S.

So-called Balders Movement Gathers Steam

NEW YORK (The Borowitz Report) A threat to the fledgling presidential campaign of Donald Trump emerged today, as a group of activists charged that Mr. Trump is not eligible to hold the nations highest office because his hair does not originate from the U.S.

The group, who call themselves Balders, claim that the hair-like substance that crowns Mr. Trumps head is from a foreign country, which would mean that the candidate is less than one hundred percent American.

Time and time again, Donald Trump has refused to produce a certificate of authenticity for his hair, said Leeann Selwyn, a leading Balder. This is tantamount to a comb-over of the truth.

But if in fact Mr. Trumps distinctive mane turns out to be of foreign origin, such a revelation need not be fatal to his presidential hopes, says Professor Davis Logsdon, who has studied the history of presidential hair at the University of Minnesota.

Remember, several of our greatest early presidents, like George Washington and Thomas Jefferson, had hair that originated elsewhere, Mr. Logsdon says. The only thing that could kill Trump politically is if his hair turns out to be from France.

At a GOP event in Iowa, Mr. Trump made no reference to the Balders controversy, and instead sounded an upbeat theme: If I am given the chance to do the same magic I did for NBC, America will be the number four country in the world.

In a piece of good news for Mr. Trump, a new poll showed a majority of likely voters agreeing with the statement, Donald Trump being sworn in as President would be a great last scene in a Planet of the Apes remake.
