Have any issues with it in Korea? I know US cell phones generally don't work in Korea but was wondering if anyone had any experience with E-Readers/Tabets?

Thanks.

I brought a Kindle, ipad 1 and ipad 2 - experienced no problems with them (but I didn't access the 3g network). I understand Kindle should be worldwide without any problems. ipads work fine on wifi networks in Korea.

I brought an ipad 1 and ordered a kindle 3. My ipad was the wireless model, because I got it before the 3g one was available. My kindle's 3g works.

I had a Kindle but it got ripped off. No problem using it, though. In Korea, you just have to go through the website and your account.

I have an iPad1 with a Kindle app and have no problems with it. My best friend has a US Kindle and has no issues either.

Just bought a Kindle 3. Amazon will ship it here no problem. I think it is one of the few electronic items they will ship overseas. I got a basic wireless one no 3G. It cost about 200,000 won in the end. Be aware that Amazon will charge an extra 25.00 dollars (I think that is the price) for Korean customs fee. But I got it under a week.

I got Nespot (KT Wireless) with it for about 10,000 won a month. Basically if I am at Starbucks or McD's or KTX or anyplace with Nespot I get a wireless connection. Which in Korea can be very nice. You will have to provide a MAC address but it works for me. I think the other places can may even provide some better services. They where going to offer a hot spot in my house too. I will just get a wireless router.

Charging it just use the USB cord they provide. I may later try my plugin USB charge device I bought at a computer supply store and see in that will work. Likely will.

Also somethings are not available in Korea. I can not get some Newspaper and Magazine subscriptions I want. If it is due to the companies or censorship I do not know. Some books I also suspect will be blocked too. Also Kindle programs, games and apps which there are very few I think are also restricted.

I have yet to test with Korean Characters and that yet. But I do not think it will go well.

No, but wishing I had one. I just found out my library back home has e-books and audio books through the internet. You check them out for free and get them for 7-14 days. I have an I-station, it isn't compatible.

I brought my Kindle 2G (non-international version) and the whispernet (3g access) does not work here. If you have the international version or a Kindle 3G it should work fine. Like a person above mentioned, you can still download books through the website on your computer and load them onto your device if you don't have a working 3G connection.

I also had a iPad 1 shipped here in the middle of last year. At that time you had to do a little bit of craziness to get it onto Korea's cellular network. First it had to shipped and inspected somewhere, where they would authorize it for the Korean cellular networks for around 300,000 won. After which you could pay for a data plan through SHOW. I did all the above and got my iPad working on 3G with a data plan. Now days I believe you can register one device to your name through the same people that had to inspect the device originally and then you get a data plan.
