IMPROV THEATRE FROM ALL OVER THE WORLD COMES TO SEOUL
Seoul City Improv, Seouls premiere improv troupe, celebrates its fourth anniversary in style with Koreas first ever International Improv Festival from May 13th-15th! This three day improv-stravaganza will include performances from the following troupes: Improv Boston (Boston, USA), Beijing Improv's Bilingual Improv Group (Beijing, China), & Peoples Liberation Improv (Hong Kong). The festival will also showcase SCIs newly minted troupe of Korean performers! Parts of the shows will be performed in Korean, and other parts will have partial Korean translation.
All three shows take place at the beautiful Spazio Luce Theatre in Itaewon. Admission is ₩15,000 per show. We are excited to feature traditional Korean music ensemble, Dulsori, performing before performances and during intermissions. A portion of proceeds go towards the Japanese Red Cross, and we will also be taking donations at the door that go straight to the organization. No advanced reservations, and the theatre opens 30 minutes before performance time.
In addition to amazing performances, there will also be improv workshops during the days of May 14th and 15th held by Will Luera, the artistic director of Improv Boston. They are open to anyone interested in learning more about improv and/or acting!
PERFORMANCE SCHEDULE:
Friday, May 13th 8-11 p.m.: International Improv Showcase
Our opening night show kicks off with performances from all of the troupes involved. Get to know the performance styles and quirks of all our visiting troupes as they perform a variety of short-form improv games a la "Whose Line is it Anyway?" as well as long-form improv, which is like improvising an entire short play!
Saturday, May 14th 8-11 p.m.: Language Extravaganza
Improvised theatre in multiple languages from different cultural perspectives! Come check out improv in Korean, Chinese, English, Spanish and more! Even if you can't speak all of the languages, you can still enjoy the different takes on this performance style! After-party at Roofers Bar & Grill!
Sunday, May 15th 4-7 p.m.: IMPROV DEATHMATCH
Members of the different troupes will be split into two teams that engage each other in an improv competition of epic proportions! A panel of judges and audience votes will determine who is elevated to eternal glory, and who sinks to the bottomless pit of defeat!
For more information about the festival, check out our website at www.seoulcityimprov.com. Check out the Facebook event at: http://www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=203978516308710
Directions to Spazio Luce: Itaewon Stn ex. 2, walk straight 2 blocks past Helios & Villa Sortino. Across from Rocky Mtn Tavern lies Spazio Luce, with an angular frosted glass facade. The theater is B1, & on the 1st floor there is an Italian restuarant which offers 10% off (on food only) for show attendees.

Ladies & Gents! Improv Boston is unable to attend, BUT we have secured one-woman improv phenomenon Shaun Landry to come to the Festival! We thank Shaun for flying in from LA today to get improv her groove on with the rest of the folks from Beijing, Hong Kong, and Seoul! Let the improv begin!
