|
|
My husband and I have only 5 days of holiday the first week of August. We want to go somewhere that has a beach plus lots of adventurous activities (think hiking, diving, kayaking, ect.). We aren't really into hard partying, but a local bar with cold drinks would be nice. We've goofed around and missed all the promo flight fares for the Philippines.
Any suggestion on where we could go that wouldn't take long to get to and won't bust up our savings? We want to spend no more than 1,500,000 won, including flights.
Thanks so much for all your help! |

1.5 million each or for combined? The latter is a mighty tall task. |

Cebu Pacific and you should still be able to get flights to Cebu and do your thing on a budget of 1.5 million (combined).
Look at Bohol for your 5 days. Combined you should be able to get by on about $500 + diving + airfare.
http://www.bohol.ph/ for lists of accomodations, prices, activities, etc.

Thanks, Ttompatz!
I've been trying all the options on Cebu Pacific, and right now it's the same price to fly to Cebu as it is Coron (1.4 mill for two tickets).
Which of the two locations would you suggest? I've heard the island hopping in Coron is world-class, but, of course, have never been there.
Looks like this vacation just may end up costing more than we hoped. |

Try looking around Korea for 5 days. There is plenty of stuff to see. Five days isn't even enough to get to Japan, look around, and come back from Japan. |

Take the ferry to Qingdao, China. Great beach, inexpensive, lots of things to do, European architecture to see. |

Good idea, but remember, August is high season in Qingdao. The beach and the hotels are packed. Be sure to book a hotel online early. You can get a decent place for around $50 US a night. |

Why not Jeju in Korea? I think they will still run the buy 3 nights get the 4th free at certain hotels and the flights are pretty cheap if you use the discount airlines flying there. |

Have you recently tried buying airplane tickets to Jeju for August? Because I have, and there are none left! |

Take the ferry, maybe they have some tickets, and go see Mockpo along the way. |

I haven't really considered Jeju. Will it be really packed in August? Will there be enough to do to keep us busy for 5 days? Is the snorkeling nice there?
Thanks for any comments! |
