Hey I was wondering if anyone has any experience or advice about this. I have a huge computer and didn't know if I should just sell it and get a laptop or not. In the box it will be 10x24x30 inches, probably 35-40 pounds.
Any idea on best way to do this, cost, similar experiences, is it safe? Or should I just sell it and get a laptop ha (I do love the big screen tho ) |

Not wise, not safe
You could mail it and there will be no problems *NOT LIKELY*
-or-
You mail it and it gets intercepted by Customs (import duty) *VERY LIKELY*
You mail it and it gets cracked *VERY LIKELY*
You mail it and it gets stolen *ALSO POSSIBLE*
Your call |

Totally sell it and buy a laptop-- 27" iMacs are going for over 2,000 on ebay. You could sell it and buy yourself a 15 or 17" Macbook. Besides, when you move to Korea your apt will probably be so small that 17" will feel like 27" |

The resale value may have just dipped after the recent iMac refresh.
And as for laptops, your call, but I personally have no love for them. To me, a home computer is massive for a reason. |

I had my imac shipped out here, no damage, no tax, no problems. Just make sure you have insurance and get fedex, ups, or someone of the like to ship it. |

Wow I am surprised to hear this with all the other answers in the thread. Do you remember much it was to ship it? |

it was part of a bunch of stuff that I had shipped here. You could go to the fedex or ups website and get an online quote based on size and weight |
