Hey I was wondering if anyone has any experience or advice about this. I have a huge computer and didn't know if I should just sell it and get a laptop or not. In the box it will be 10x24x30 inches, probably 35-40 pounds.

Any idea on best way to do this, cost, similar experiences, is it safe? Or should I just sell it and get a laptop ha (I do love the big screen tho Crying or Very sad )

Not wise, not safe Crying or Very sad

You could mail it and there will be no problems *NOT LIKELY*

-or-

You mail it and it gets intercepted by Customs (import duty) *VERY LIKELY*
You mail it and it gets cracked *VERY LIKELY*
You mail it and it gets stolen *ALSO POSSIBLE*

Your call

Totally sell it and buy a laptop-- 27" iMacs are going for over 2,000 on ebay. You could sell it and buy yourself a 15 or 17" Macbook. Besides, when you move to Korea your apt will probably be so small that 17" will feel like 27"

The resale value may have just dipped after the recent iMac refresh.

And as for laptops, your call, but I personally have no love for them. To me, a home computer is massive for a reason.

I had my imac shipped out here, no damage, no tax, no problems. Just make sure you have insurance and get fedex, ups, or someone of the like to ship it.

Wow I am surprised to hear this with all the other answers in the thread. Do you remember much it was to ship it?

it was part of a bunch of stuff that I had shipped here. You could go to the fedex or ups website and get an online quote based on size and weight
