I'm 26 male from NY teaching English, my friend is 22 female senior at Seoul Nat'l University about to graduate and interviewing for jobs. We're currently looking for a 3BR 2bath apartment in the general Gangnam area.
Price range for the apartments we're interested in are ~30million key money 2K-2.6Krent? (these are very general figures since we haven't chosen a specific place yet). You will most likely be paying 10million deposit + ~800rent. This means we'll be living in a luxury apartment with all modern interiors, amenities, etc.
I've been living in Seoul for about 4 years so I have all the furniture we can share (TV, audio, leather couch, etc). You should bring/buy all the furniture for your bedroom.
The setup for most 3BR apartments is 1 large master bedroom with an attached bathroom and 2 smaller bedrooms with a shared bathroom which means I would probably take the master and my female friend and you (also female) would use the 2 others. This means I will pay the most rent probably 2/5 and the rest would be split between my friend and you.
if you look for a place on your own in the Gangnam area, an officetel usually goes for 10million key money + 700-1.000 rent, which doesn't get you much space, tiny kitchen, usually not a separate bedroom, etc.
Please be clean, pay bills on time, no smoking or drugs, and no pets.
we plan to move in by mid june-late june

Ah sorry. To clarify, I would pay the most rent. For example, if the total rent is 2500/month, I'd pay 1,000 and my friend and the new housemate would pay 750 each. I will edit the original post |
