I see some of these things from time to time... here's one I saw today:

ũ븮 - supposed to be 'techno valley', also looks like 'take no belly'

I have another one but it's not so good, so I'll refrain from writing it here.

I notice that a lot as well and i'm by no means the language scholar you are Laughing

I thought I was reading "no space" in hangul once but laughed when I realized it was "north face" (saw small English nearby)

The movies on tv are like a puzzle as they keep the hangulized English on the screen. It can take a bit of time to get the title.

Let's see am I watching about the "Russia War" or is it "Rush hour"?

This happens often! Today it took me a while to figure out the title "Drop Dead Gorgeous." I was thinking, "The Rope that Go just...?" Hangul messes it up but makes it a little game

Then again romanization ... "ahopsaljungjanamja" looks strange too!

Writing English words in hangeul is one main reason why so many English words are mispronounced.

I am so glad that someone else read North Face as no space. I find I have to read out loud to be able to hear what I am saying to figure some of them out.

The first day I learned to read Korean, I was out and about trying to read the signs for practice.

I saw one sign and thought, what the hell is "Icheon bee day"

Then I looked at the picture... oh... "Icheon Bidet"

They sell toilets.

I prefer the mc hweestuh burger (ֽƮ) or some damn thing like that. It took me forever to realize it's supposed to be "McFeast burger". I though they'd actually come up with an original name for one of those burgers.

I didn't expect so many responses... Wink

Actually yesterday I noticed something while eating pizza. There was some "garlic dipping sauce" along with it. I glanced at the Korean translation and it was
μҽ
...
What's the point of that? I don't think there's anyone out there that doesn't know English lettering any more, and if they had to rely on the Hangul it's still just the English transcribed phoenetically. That's actually one reason why some people here respect North Korea in some ways, as they refuse to take in English loanwords.

Apparently:
bra (, from brazier I think) is (breast-holder)
ice cream (̽ ũ) is (ice + , don't know what that second word is)
orange juice ( 꽺) is (orange + juice).

One of the biggest problems with Japanese and Korean are the loanwords - sometimes they will understand you because the word you're using is actually a loanword, sometimes because they just happen to know the word you're using due to their English education. I see right next to me a sign that says " ޺" (morning combo) - this might lead one to believe that ħ can also be replaced with , which isn't true. Nevertheless pretty much everybody understands the word morning so one could go for a pretty long time thinking that is a perfectly acceptable loanword in Korean...

How do I get a job as a "breast holder"?

And yeah, on every pizza I order, the entire thing is in Konglish... from the garlic dipping sauce to the pickles... everything written in Korean, but the English words.
