For those of you who haven't been here long enough to make a lot of friends (or perhaps you have friends but they don't want to spend the money) who do you go to travel around asia with? Or what are your suggestions?

I want to go to hong kong for a few days sometime this summer but don't really want to go by myself. Are there group tours or is there a facebook group for people who are looking to travel? I have a friend who said she would do europe by herself, but not anywhere in asia. thoughts?

There is a website www.travbuddy.com where you create a profile to meet other travelers going to the same place as you.

There is also www.courchsurfing.com where you stay on a locals couch for free.

Lastly, it is pretty easy to meet other travelers staying at any hostel. Go to the common room and say hello. Go explore the city with the people you meet. I use www.hostelworld.com

Hong Kong is a pretty big, safe city so it is not like you are going to the jungle's of 'Nam by yourself or anything. Even if you did go solo it probobly wouldn't be that big of a deal.

Yeah, in certain places it is hard NOT to meet fellow travelers.
