One of my student's friends is playing a show next weekend (May 28th) in Hongdae at Club FF. 10,000 won to get in, doors open at 5:30, show starts at 6. I'm going with my co-teacher and a bunch of students.

The punk/hardcore scene in Korea is a dire, dismal affair. Ask one of the Koreans/foreigners there what they think about Discharge or Amebix and prepare yourself for the vacant stare of unknowingness. Can I say poser? I sure can!

State Control State Control this is State Control.

GBH also crossed the line between punk and metal.

Lemmy from Motorhead is a big fan of "The Damned."

I guess you never experienced the old Skunk Hell scene, then. Sure there were a few pop punkers, but lots of the punks, foreign (excluding air force guys) and korean alike knew their stuff.

Anyway, back then they were trying to do 80s punk. Now it's gone more like 90s hardcore, which isn't my thing. I don't enjoy many bands anymore. But there are a few good ones.
