|
|
Hi Guys,
I'm wondering what people who've taught abroad do after? (I.e. what grad schools or jobs they go to)?
It would be great to know, so I could set up for something rewarding after my one-two years here.
Thanks |

| Join the armed forces. You'd fit in perfectly, you would never have to make a decision on your own and they would tell you what to do and where to be every minute of the day. Unless you're on leave, then you could find a military message board and ask what you should do that weekend. |

Hi dave,
Don't mind the negativity. What I did after I left was come back to Canada and got a call centre job. My partner and I promptly got bored, and decided to go teach in Turkey. After 6 months there, we decided to go back to Korea (after swearing that I would never be back!) Had a much better second year, and half way through, decided I wanted to be a teacher in Canada, so started my application process and found out in my last week in Korea, that I was accepted to do my B.Ed. I'm finishing up my first year as a teacher, and have been hired to do a camp in Incheon for 2 weeks this summer. I'm excited because I've convinced my brother to come with me, so he'll get a chance to experience what I was up to for 2 years.
You will likely have a great time in Korea, but definitely recommend having a plan when you go back home, or else you do end up a bit lost. |

What will I do after I leave Korea?
Whatever it takes. I've been pretty much living on the edge for the last 10 years anyway, so why change now. |

Thanks for the recommendations.
I know I do come across as a bit too thorough sometimes. I just want to make sure I'm making a good decision about my career. |

this caused me many lulz
but seriously, it sucks to live life this way, always plagued by insecure thoughts of, "did i make the right decision?" then BAM, you stop making big decisions altogether because the consequences of a "wrong" decision are too scary to imagine. |
