|
|
I've got a birthday coming up, and that means one of my favourite things in the world: a no expense spared buffet! I'd like to try somewhere new, but since many of the restaurant websites I've visited lack details and photos on what the buffet foods are, I thought I'd make this thread so people can post reviews.
Here are some of the ones I've been to (prices are from my hazy memory and may be outdated anyway):
Terrace at The Grand Hyatt (Itaewon).
Price: ~70,000 won
Atmosphere: Great view and nice place overall.
Food: Thick sashimi, roast beef, lamb, some good salads, crab legs, and a great dessert table.
Kitchen at the W Hotel
Price: ~90,000 won
Atmosphere: The best I've been to. Modernist decor and a fantastic view of the Han.
Food: Deli meats, cheeses, crepes, pasta dishes, delicious salmon and meats, and a great dessert table here too.
The Garden at the Ritz-Carlton
Price: ~70,000 won
Atmosphere: Nice garden outside the restaurant, good inside too.
Food: Good selection of wines, great sushi and meats, but not great dessert-wise. Still, the quality of the food was great, and the espressos were just how I like them.
The Cafe at the JW Marriott
Price: ~70,000 won
Atmosphere: Nice inside but no view (curtains were drawn, and it felt like being in a basement).
Food: Roast beef, sushi and sashimi, good salads, great desserts.
Overall I'd say the W Hotel had the best buffet, with the Ritz being a close second because of the free alcohol. |

The only one that I have been to on that list is the Ritz.
The food was good and the selection was decent, but 70,000 was pretty steep for what it was imo.
I guess I prefer cheaper with more variety.
I have always been fond of Todai. and for 30,000 it is pretty darn good. |

Normally I'm with you on finding the best buffet for the money, but the super high-end ones are an annual treat for me that I look forward to, so I don't mind if one meal is almost two weeks of groceries |

Some buffets, if you pay around 35 US, they have cavier and everything. I'll have to look it up, I always knew the location not the name. |

The Sunday brunch buffet at W Hotel has to be one of the best money can buy in Seoul. The Paris Grill buffet isn't bad either but don't expect sashimi. Simply land based. |
