So how does not reclining my seat benefit me exactly?

You want others not to recline their seats. Therefore you've established that not reclining your seat is a selfless act. It's a case of "practice what you preach," but you're only doing it because if other people follow it, it benefits you.

Not everyone shares your moral code. In fact, very few do.

Well you could say that about anything couldn't you. Maybe that's what taterfot was alluding too. As I mentioned before selfless people will always be in the minority so I'm pretty sure not reclining my seat is not about to affect many people's behaviour very soon. I do it because I'm trying to put people behind me before my own comfort in the same way as I offer my seat up for an old person. You could be cynical aboout that too and say I just do that so people will offer their seats to me when I get old. So be it.

I'd say the difference is that a majority agree that you should offer your seats to old people.

I really don't get this "if you don't like reclining, fly business!" mentality. I mean, if all the no-smoking tossers hate it that much, stay the hell out of bars!!!!111!!112243@@1!!!

But seriously. All I ask of you reclining pansies is to not bounce all over your seat while you recline. I'm not that tall but my knees are all bone and I have problems on pretty much any tight form of transport. Recline away, but please, please don't bounce. Or I will get our flight canceled. Smile

I have quite long leg, and my knees will hit the seat in front even when it's not reclined, but I still prefer everyone in the plane to recline their seats. Being able to lie back outweighs the pain of having to bend my legs in awkward positions and reclining the seat makes it easier to bend my legs in those positions anyway. The point is to get your knees as low as possible since a 90 degree angle is what takes up the most space.

Now I understand that for people of extraordinary height, it will be a problem nomatter what you do, so try hard to get a seat near an emergency exit. But for the majority of us (90%+) I think reclining our seats is the best option.

Economy Plus is a level between regular economy and business class. It's basically Economy with more seat and foot space but none of the extra perks of Business. I ain't never flown Business and while it sounds fancy, I don't really see it as something that I require.

Yes, there is a 'cause"- but to certain "people" it "will be" selfishness...

Oh well... Wink Can't spend your life worrying about it..

Clearly, you've never flown with Delta Laughing
