I've been looking at some job postings for university positions and I've noticed that they offer E-2 visas.

Am I wrong in asking, in the past, did universities offer a different E visa?

E2 or E1 depending on the position.

Teacher of foreign languages = E2 (by visa definition).
Visiting professor = E1.
