|
|
Hi guys,
Busan seems real busy on the weekend of the 3rd. (Weekend after next).
The KTX is booked out for the Friday evening and most of the slow trains also.
The hostels down there are also booked out on the Friday and Saturday nights.
So, I'm panicking about getting accommodation for my gf and I.
Questions:
1. Is it possible to book a Love Motel in advance?
2. How much are they? (ball park)
3. Anyone have a website in English for a Love Motel?
4. How long does the Express Bus take from Seoul to Busan?
5. Could it be booked out already?
6. Is a jimjilbang for the weekend an unreasonable idea if worst comes to the worst?
Lastly, should we stay in KSU, Haeundae or Gangwali?
Thanks. |

1) It's possible, but I don't think there are any sites in English.
2) 40-70,000.
3) See above.
4) Don't know, but traffic is going to be hell that weekend.
5) I went down to Busan on a long weekend last year and went to about thirty or forty love motels in Haeundae without any vacancies. I don't recommend trying it, particularly if neither you or your girlfriend know enough Korean to get by. The only way I was able to find a room was to hop in a cab and tell the driver to bring us to a place with a bunch of motels.
6) It's been done, but wouldn't exactly be romantic.
I kind of prefer Gwangali as it's a bit more central to the rest of the city, but realistically they're only about ten or fifteen minutes apart on the subway, so it doesn't matter too much either way. Staying near Gwangali might be a bit cheaper. |

Hey,
Thanks for that.
Gonna ask my co-teacher to help me book one online, even though I'm not sure about locations. Haven't been to Busan before.
Is it safe to book anywhwere in Haeundae? How big is it? Is it possible to be in Haeundae but far away from the action?
Also, how far is KSU and Gwangali from Haeundae?
Thanks. |

There's no "action" in Haeundae unless your talking about the RLD.
KSU and Gwangali are 10 minutes away by subway or taxi.
No point in booking online. There are 5 motels on every block all about the same.
PS- Gwangali rules over Haeundae, but don't tell anyone. Everyone thinks Haeundae is the only place to work in Busan, but they end up living in Jangsan, which isn't the beach. |

So we've tried to ring more hotels/motels.
THEY ARE ALL BOOKED OUT.
Can someone please suggest how we can make a booking? Our co-teachers are not willing to help.
Does anyone know of a hotel in Busan whose staff speak English?
We'd really like to get down to Busan for the weekend. We need a break. But we will cancel our train tickets if we can't book a hotel before going down. It sounds crazily busy there this coming weekend and we don't want to end up in Busan with nowhere to stay. |

I'm sure you know this already, but this is really the last minute and whenever there's a long weekend with nice weather, everybody and their grandma heads to Busan.
If I were you, I wouldn't panic and just plan to hit a Jimjilbang while you're there. Just look one up ahead of time. While you're there, in the daytime you can stop around whenever you see a love motel or something and ask if they have rooms available. People might cancel at the last minute, etc. Anyway, I wouldn't count on anyone speaking English but don't let that hold you back.
If I were you I would just plan to hit the spas overnight and take the leap. It can be fun. |

The Seacloud.
Paradise Hotel
Glory Condo Hotel
Park Hotel
Hotel Hermmes
I would stay in a big love motel, but I know what's up and you don't know what you're doing. |

Hi again,
Finally found somewhere to stay.
More questions though...
What's there to do in Busan besides drinking?
We'd love a cliff walk or some amazing scenery (besides the beach).
Any cool temples that stand out from the other ones in the city? |

I once visited the United Nations Grave Site in Pusan. It was fantastic. Definately a 'must see'. |
