My friend's company is putting together this event:
THE SCOOP:
How long has it been since you drove? Actually, have you ever driven in Seoul? Unwind your desires to zoom around the city with this weeks DealKo: for 10,000 KRW, you will get to Go Kart your heart out (a 20,000 KRW/10 minutes value) at Korea Kart in Jamsil.
As one of the leading Go Kart venues in Korea, Korea Kart brings to you full and exclusive access to its Go Kart track for 2 hours, from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM, on June 18th, 2011. Since we will have the entire place to ourselves, we can pretty much do whatever we please, ranging from racing to Mario Kart simulation. And of course, since every DealiciousKorea event involves food, we will be offering snacks and beverages (not sure about beer since it may be considered drunk driving). Afterwards, we will have a group dinner for those interested, which I am assuming, will be all of you .
See you this coming Saturday!
If you are interested in joining, simply go join the Dealicious Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/DealiciousKorea and then click "attending" on the event page here https://www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=136448459767090 |

Is this the track?

If so, those karts are brutal. The speed limiters prevent you from gaining ground on the straights and the last time I went the cars were all tuned to different specs. I lapped my friend the first race and then we switched karts for the second race and I couldn't catch him. |

Are you kidding me? The normal cost is 2,000 won per minute? That is insane. |

I had this idea for a business in Korea about 10 years ago. I had been missing driving and I would tell everyone I know how great it would be to have a kick-ass gokart raceway for people.
Of course it's going to be expensive, it's KOREA. |

Go by there when they have the people who do that as a hobby - saw some girl, probably 7 or 8 years old, full Nomex suit racing around doing between 80-100 kmh. My old college roommate raced go-karts; took his out for a spin and nearly dropped a load. That fast, that low to the ground, those tiny tires... Just asking for death. Fun death, but still, death. |
