|
|
Hello All,
I will be coming to Seoul in late July with my girlfriend. She will be staying with me for a week while I settle in. I want to take her on a nice date and take her out for a romantic dinner.
If money was no object, where would you take your significant offer for a romantic date and dinner? I searched through the forums and identified N-Grill and Building 63 as potential restaurants. I was hoping to find other restaurants and ideas for dates. For full disclosure, I will be proposing to her during that time, any suggestions?
Thank you for all your help. |

just do the ol' tried and true cable car up to namsan tower or a boat tour of the han etc.
i love seoul but it is severely lacking in the romantic ambiance department compared to other cities. |

Hello All,
Thanks for all your input. I prefer something more private, maybe during a walk along the Han River.
It is not the same as Vancouver, where I can go up to Grouse Mountain or Whistler, or even during the sunset by the beach.
I googled romantic restaurants in Seoul and nothing really came up.
Again, thanks for all your help. |

Zen Hideaway in Apujeong is a great place. It's kind of asian fusion food, but the atmosphere is great. There is a garden/pond in the middle of the resturant, very relaxed, romantic, etc. and not as expensive as the other places mentioned, but not cheap either. |

Why don't you get out of Seoul? For the price of an expensive meal, you could get a couple of bus tickets and go somewhere quieter, nicer. For a bit more than the expensive seoul meal, you can go somewhere nice and get a hotel over night.
like seafood? Go to the east sea, gangneung or dong hae, get some local seafood, beautiful sunrises. |

Marco Polo in the Intercontinental Hotel/World Trade Centre Coex is pretty nice.
Good food, great view (53F, reserve a table next to the window), prices are actually reasonable for some items.
We ate at the Mediterranean side, the other side is Asian fusion IIRC. |

Ask for a window seat. You can see your food being prepared |

And I am assuming she said no. Just kidding, you aren't the only one with a sense of humour.
I would like to go out of Seoul to propose, maybe Jeju Island, but I wouldn't have time to leave Seoul as I have to unpack, meet up with my employer and get familiar with the city. |

Have you googled Namsan Tower? They have a pretty good view however the setting is a tad overpriced.
Or Jongno Tower (I think that's the name) they have a spinning hotel on the top floor which has a good view of the city for 60 bucks a plate
Edit:
Jongno Tower

namsan tower at night is ridiculously romantic. i had my first korean kiss there with a girl haha she didn't wanna put the lock on the fence obviously not that i even asked but u can haha i don't know if they still do that tho. the food is pretty good but very expensive and the tower is actually really tiny but it is pretty romantic. nice gondola ride up there too |
