Hey, just curious if anyone here is familiar with airsoft guns?
I bought my first one (other than springers) and I think there may be an issue, but I'm not sure.

I just bought a brand new Western Arms 92F Beretta.
However at around 3.5 meters distance from target, the shot is hitting 8cm below where the sights are aimed.
Not sure of the weight of the BB's.
But is this normal? Should you have to adjust the hopup straight out of the box when it is brand new?!?!?
I'm not sure because this is my first airsoft other than a springer.

Thing is, I actually bought a Beretta elite, and shot a mag of that and returned it because I didn't like the small grip.
The shots were on target, and the shots were harder.
The original box I tried the elite on, the BB's embedded in the cardboard.
But the new 92F PV I exchanged it for, besides the BBs hitting below target, they just bounce off this box clean.....
So I assume something is wrong.

I did try to adjust the hop up, half a turn each way to experiment, it is still dropping around 8cm below target.
Do you think something is wrong?
If so, what?

If anyone can help me, I'd appreciate it.
I don't want to take it back to where I bought it from unless I have to, because I think the shop keepers already hate me because I bought the Elite in to exchange.

You should be able to correct it with the hop-up. The pistol won't be dialed in right out of the box you will almost certainly have to adjust the hop-up and fire a few dozen BB's before you will get it just right. If the target is only 3.5 meters away, the BB weight shouldn't make a difference. A half a turn in either direction isn't enough to correct a 8cm difference. If the hop-up doesn't fix the aim issue you should probably return it for another one. There really isn't anything else you could do other than swapping out the barrel, which is more effort than it's worth.

Just curious where did you happen to find WA airsoft guns in Korea?

I love the fact that I can keep a loaded airsoft gun at school and occasionally shoot kids with it and not end up in jail and on the news.

I'm guessing it is one of those spring powered airsoft guns? If you have an AEG (automatic electric gun) or a gas powered airsoft pistol they leave a mark.

I'm picturing you shooting your students with an airsoft gun during class as a discipline method, it made me chuckle. A more modern alternative to the ruler. Very Happy

Got it at Sindorim Technomart
5th floor there is a hobbyshop with heaps of cheap korean airsoft, a few tokyo marui and a few Wester Arms.
Next door however there is whole shop dedicated to airsoft, with all types of upgrades, but they focus on Tokyo Marui only...

That may be so but if my daughter came home and told me her tool of a teacher shot her with a pellet / bb gun I would be having a not so polite conversation with you.

At what point did you think this was a good idea?

Yeah, they're the crappy spring ones. I miss my gas pistols from back home. Too bad those were made illegal in my county about 2 years before I left. Rolling Eyes

Did they happen to have any Classic Army weapons there? I prefer CA to TM or WA. Also, how much did the pistol cost? I might have to go check this place out this weekend. I have wanted to get back into airsoft for awhile. Unfortunately, it seems like paintball is a much more popular option here.

Steelrails, I definitely understand where you are coming from. In the states students get suspended/expelled if they bring a friggin nail file to school. You would think you are going through a TSA screening to get on an international flight every time you go to class.
