So I'm going home, and wondering if there's any suggestions for souvenirs I might bring home to family and friends. I'm going to bring some beondegi to my father, who claims he'll eat anything, and some Peppero for my little brother, who loves Pockey, and I'm going to try to find a nice mahjong set. I'm already bringing home a ton of Korean children's books--which I tried to use to learn Korean. And I'm going to bring home some Korean junk food--Balli chocolate, the knockoff Snickers and Kit-Kats, and maybe some of the chocolate mushrooms or Lotte biscuits.

Any other suggestions?

Thanks,
HK

Go to the main gift shop at the National Museum of Korea or the gift shop at the Folk Museum. They have some great things for sale at decent prices.

I think the best gifts I bought were the paper lamps that they sell in Insadong. They'll give you a western plug and pack it securely so it won't break on your way home. They vary in price but you can get a nice little one for around 20-30k I think.

If your dad claims he'll eat anything, bring KIMCHI!

Or go one better, and buy some kimchi chocolate. They sell it in Insadong. No idea what it tastes like though, and I've no real desire to find out.
