The house was something that the in-laws are helping us with (aka, they are telling us to move to this place). The more important reason is the Korean mother in law. If you don't have a korean mother in law, you wouldn't understand.

I have a choice, ruin my marriage and family life, or find another home for Winnie. I have been in numerous arguments withit the wife and mother in law about it.

Don't give me the bull$hit about the whole rescuing thing. I helped start up a group here, and I seriously considered for a long time keeping the dogs and ruining my marriage. who the hell are you to judge.

Back to the point, she's a great dog, with a really high metabolism, so you don't have to worry about her getting overweight. i just want a good home for her, and i refuse to let the inlaws give the dogs to just any korean family, which they want to do.

Did your wife agree to get the dog while you were married? Did you have the dog before you were married and the your wife married you even though she didn't like the dog? I see Koreans drop off dogs at the shelter all the time and the reason is "My mother-in-law says no."

Your in-laws found you a place to live and they are telling you to get rid of your pet? Do they cook your meals and wash your clothes too?

Just a bump in hopes that someone will adopt your awesome dog. Don't let the jokers get you down, they live for internet entertainment because they can't afford to go out for a beer. Cheers Very Happy

Yea because when you keep a dog that long it bonds with you. It sees you as it's pack and after a while doesn't know how to live without it's pack. She rescused it with the intent of keeping it. Not giving it up later.

Thanks for calling me a jackass.

She saved the dogs life. Stop being a jackass.

Yea and now what's she doing with it? Do some research about dogs and bonding. Then come and volunteer and see a few dogs that have been re-homed and watch the behavior problems that arise. Then it become a dog no one wants and is ultimately put down.

You're coming off as a self-righteous pri......person.

Situations change and sometimes family pets have to go. The OP tried finding the dog a good home and you're biting their head off for it. They could have more easily just let the dog run outside or dumped it off at the pound.

Your message comes off as "Don't adopt dogs unless you'll keep them until the day they die." By your logic, this pictured dog would have already been put down.

You're good. That's exactly what I'm saying. I watch dogs go in and out of the shelter for many reasons. The main reason that Koreans give when they drop a dog off is "I don't want it anymore." The OP is letting his in-laws do this indirectly. If the dog is being aggressive (without being provoked) that's a good reason to take it to the pound. If it has an illness that can't be treated that's a good reason to put the dog down.

His reason is just not good enough. This is a public forum and I can express this if I choose. Jsut as you have expressed you opionion.

Fair enough. Your opinion is wrong, imo (in the OP's case), but I respect your right to express it.

I don't think I'd buy a dog for 70,000

When I had to get rid of my cat in China, I PAID people to take good care of it.
