Hey all,
Seoul seems like an excellent setting for Xmas, despite the cold, because of the really high percentage of Christian believers. But what about New Year's? I'm thinking a warmer East Asian country would be a great place to see in 2012. I haven't done much the last few NYE's and I want it to be really fun this year. On the other hand, maybe Seoul is a great place for NYE also? I know that some cities kind of clear out and turn into ghost towns over the holidays, as people go on vacation for warmer climates. Is this true of Seoul, as well? I have to make a decision on a plane ticket within the next 2-3 days and would love any advice/experiences to share. Thanks!

Not really a big holiday here. Lunar new year is more of a celebration in Korea than January first. I would suggest going elsewhere. Plus, the winter sucks balls here.
