Is there any decent, cheap courses in Incheon/ Seoul? Also need club hire.

Peace and love xx

Check out Dream Dunes and the Songdo courses. Both are executive 9s (not pitch-and-putt, but only a hole or two on which you'd use a long iron/fairway wood), and ironically don't have 9 holes (I think they both have more than that). They rent (hire) clubs, and you usually have to also pay a caddy fee for an ajumma (as is the norm). Go midweek and get a pretty sweet deal for some fun times (30-40,000 for the round, plus hire/caddy).

The trouble is being a single. Most places don't give you a tee time unless you are in a foursome. Best thing is meet people who golf. I taught in a uni and played with proffs in the Chungbuk area. Green fees were about 100-200 thousand for decent par 72 courses with good enough tee boxes, and I demoed clubs from local Cheongju golf stores - with the aid of Korean friends. Always took out a sweet set of Maruman blades until I finally brought my clubs from home. Good luck...one thing to remember....it's a different sport in Korea and dont' try and wear shorts!

Thanks for the advice.

Me and a friend are both coming to Incheon in August so if anyone wants a cheeky 9 holes let me know.

100-200?? A bit steep, how would this compare to a $50 american course?

If you traveled an hour or two south of Seoul could you find some courses for cheaper?

Be prepared for the most rushed, non-relaxing round of your life. Courses are often overbooked, caddies are not there to assist you, but to move you along as quickly as possible. After paying 100,000/round twice and not even getting to take 75% of my shots and being rushed through the rest because of "time" I won't be playing here again.

You've obviously never played Allerton Municipal Golf Course in Liverpool!

Sounds like it'll be ok, play hard or go home!! Very Happy

Yeah, the rates, and more importantly the hassle and pace, here make golf much more of an outing than back home.

I mostly do screen golf to keep in form, but its not the same.

I've only played twice in Korea at a par-3, 9-hole course in the Cheonan area. No caddies, not rushed on weekdays. Hitting off mats, however. Was about 17,000 for 9, if I remember. My playing partner left Korea so I haven't been in a few years. Would like to play now and then. I'm rubbish, too.

Sound, well I get to Incheon around 17th August and my mate the week after that so send me a message on here or at [email protected] and we'll sort out a round

This ain't golf.

I'll save my money for rounds at home or in the Philippines/Thailand.

I play quite a bit in Thailand. Unfortunately, I can't spend every day there.

Of course a par-3 course isn't like a regulation round, however, it is good enough to work on the short game, which I need to very much.
