If I overstay my visa for a few months and get fined at the airport when leaving and I tell them I have no money to pay the fine, then what?

I think you get detained until somebody wires you the money.

The fine is only KW 100,000 for over staying up to 2 weeks, give or take a couple of days. So, I'm sure they will make sure you don't have the money by asking what you have on you, if you have a credit card, a bank account, etc.
If you really don't have the money. . . well. . . I don't know.

How could you overstay your visa...by a few months?? A few days I could understand but a few months?

Do yourself a favor and go to immigration and get an extension and save yourself the trouble of pleading lack of funds to immigration. Watch out for yourself because immigration won't.

Cheers

im not here to answer questions about my life.

the visa is already expired 2 months ago. If my friend doesnt leave until the summer that's 6 months over the period which is alot of money. it's not possible to leave now.

6 months fines and no money and you prove u have no money then what? no credit cards either. how would they prove that there was money in an overseas account...they cant.

You will wind up sitting in a dentention centre until someone pays your fines. They are very serious about that here. Go and get an extension, they will lock you up. Smile

They could detain "your friend" until "they" came up with the money.

Kristoy...read man read: They will detain your friend until he or she finds a way to pay the fine.

They don't joke around with this.

Trust me your friend will not be detained for 50 years...he or she will magically find the money from someone once he or she is faced with detention.

And an overstay of six months...thats asking for it.
