I'm thinking of going and I just wonder what the experiences of people on this board have been on that island. I'm not looking for Boracay but I want something more than what Alona Beach offers, which wasn't bad but not great, either. |

Yes and it is QUIET. They roll up the streets at dusk and there is NO transportation after 7pm.
There are very few "restaurants" outside of the "resorts".
Camiguin beach club was an overpriced disappointment.
The other resorts on the west side of the island were equally uninspiring.
That said, it is a nice place to spend a few days. There is some OK diving and the volcano hikes are OK too. There is always the hot springs (Ardent Hot Springs resort), waterfalls and cold springs to break the boredom as well as the ruins from the last eruption and sunken graveyard.
